MADISON-On Thursday, April 9th Madison Police Officers made a drug bust while conducting a routine traffic stop. Here is how the Madison Police Department describe the events leading up to the arrest of two men:
“Earlier this morning during a traffic stop on Madison Boulevard, officers located an active methamphetamine lab inside the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Cory Melton (26 yoa) of Deatsville, AL, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. The investigation led detectives to the Country Hearth Inn located on Madison Boulevard where they discovered precursors used to manufacture methamphetamine in a room occupied by Jeffrey Isbell (41 yoa) of Athens, AL. Isbell was arrested and charged with Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree.
Both men were transported to the Madison County Jail. Mr. Melton’s bond was set at $7,500.00 and Mr. Isbell’s bond was set at $5,000.00.”
