FLORENCE – At what must have been the most over-the-top business announcement The Shoals has seen since the construction of Wilson Dam, a Fort Worth media company announced that a music-oriented theme park will to be built right here. The DreamVision Company, a privately-owned entertainment and media concern unveiled detailed plans for DREAMVISION SOUNDSCAPE. It is a $3.5-billion music-inspired theme park and resort. Company officials said the plans call for the park to be completed by 2019.
Rumor has it that the site is the TVA Reservation property along 2nd Street between Hatch Boulevard and Highway 157. The company would not say where they plan to site the development, but indicated that an announcement would come soon.
Here is what the media release had to say:
“According to DreamVision CEO Rick Silanskas, the park, along with a second theme park in Fort Worth, Texas, is being developed simultaneously in a partnership with Muscle Shoals-based, Bryan Robinson, CEO, Provident Global Capital, LLC.
“We are very excited about our partnership with DreamVision and their team of proven industry leaders. Even more compelling is how DreamVision aligns with Provident Global Capital’s core values and our mission of investing in companies that have a positive impact on society,” said Robinson.
“Because of its role in music history, Muscle Shoals is a fitting site for the world’s most ambitious, musically themed destination park and resort,” Silanskas said at today’s press conference. “Our goal is to celebrate the universal language of music, while positioning this remarkable town as the music capital for the 21st century.” The 1,400-acre park, which will pay homage to the history and folklore of the Shoals – spotlighting multiple music genres – anticipates introducing up to 20,000 jobs to the region.
Anchored by the iconic DreamVision Music Mountain, DREAMVISION SOUNDSCAPE will feature musically themed “neighborhoods” showcasing country, pop, gospel, jazz and more with unique all-age rides, such as SOUNDSCAPE Singing River; “Breaches,” an extreme roller coaster; “Slide Guitar,” a drop ride; and “Oceanica,” a domed water playground along with various performance venues. The destination will also include golf courses, hotels, retail and more.
Pioneering a new breed of family entertainment, DreamVision also announced an extensive partnership with The Thomas Kinkade Company; a music division called DREAMVISION MUSIC; a CGI film “NADIA” (in production); and the Broadway adaption of “NADIA.”
