Mr. Douglas Robert Pavalok, age 90 of Guntersville, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Shepherds Cove Hospice in Albertville.
Mr. Pavalok was born on January 31, 1931, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to John Michael Pavalok and Eva Fetty Pavalok. He worked in the John Deere Plant in Moline, Illinois until he retired. He then moved to Guntersville in 1998. He attended the Lake City Assembly of God church. Some of the things he enjoyed about retirement in the Guntersville area were fishing, hiking, and visiting covered bridges. He also enjoyed traveling and taking care of his lawn. He especially loved his dogs and ducks.
Mr. Pavalok leaves behind to celebrate his life, son, Michael D. Pavalok (Tran Nguyen); sisters, Tona Bennet (Alacen), Sonya Bartoletta; grandchildren, Evelyn Smith, Collin Pavalok, Caroline Pavalok, Norah Pavalok.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pavalok is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Ruth Hyde Pavalok.
A visitation will be held at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. A service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at the New Canaan Cemetery, Arab, AL.
