Funeral services for Mr. Douglas Porter, age 69, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 AM until service time.
Mr. Porter, a retired factory worker, member of the US Marine Corp., the Humboldt VFW and Smyrna Baptist Church, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erskin and Audrey Porter; and a sister Vicky Lynn Porter.
Mr. Porter is survived by his wife, Kay Porter of Humboldt; a son, John Shopher (Martha) of Humboldt; a sister, Deborah Sauseda of Trenton; and was loved very much by his honorary granddaughter, Jaclyn, who called him “Pa Doug.”
