Douglas M. Popadines was born August 30, 1954 in Detroit, MI the son of the late Charles William and Ann Barbara Makowski Popadines.
He was united in marriage to Mary Webster on August 8, 1992.
Doug earned an Associate’s Degree from Henry Ford Community College. He worked for many years in law enforcement at Garden City Police Department and retired from McNairy County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of Michie First Baptist church.
He enjoyed being with family and friends, watching sports and old tv shows, and gardening.
Doug departed this life on March 20, 2023 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 68 Years, 6 Months, 20 Days. He is survived by his wife Mary (Webster) Popadines of Selmer, TN; two stepsons, Clint Rajaniemi and wife Veronica, Brent Rajaniemi; sister, Linda Haller of Garden City, MI; a brother, Chuck Popadines of Garden City, MI; three step grandchildren, Rebecca Rajaniemi, Amber Rajaniemi, Clint Rajaniemi Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Doris Hooton, Lisa Martin and husband Ben, Lori Taffer; nieces and nephews, Courtney Haller, Caitlin O’Rourke, and Joyce Loupe and husband Cody, Jacob Klotz and wife Jessica, Carl Klotz, Amanda Partin and husband Billy, Ian Taffar and Raven Taffar; great nieces and nephews, Adriana Kidd, Evan Haller, Mason Clark, Camden Haller, Payton Haller, Colton O’Rourke and Mason Cox; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Popadines was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Popadines; mother-in-law, Marilyn J. Webster; nephew, Andrew Klotz.
