Douglas M. Chapman, 75, died May 10, 2024. He was the son of Billy
Murray and Christine Chapman of Decatur, (both deceased).
He was a 1967 graduate of Decatur High, a 1971 University of Alabama
graduate, and a lifelong Alabama fan. Before retiring, he owned and
operated Town and Country Cleaners in Hartselle for over 40 years.
He is survived by his partner Judy Burns and his two sons: Bryan D.
Chapman (Julie) of Decatur, AL, and Travis A. Chapman (Leslye) of Irvine,
CA. He had 3 grandchildren (Garrett, Jack, and Riley) in Decatur, and 2
grandchildren (Sophia and Alexander) in Irvine, CA. Other survivors include
his brother, Donald Chapman (Barbara) from Decatur, AL.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
