Douglas Homer Junior Sides, 68, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at NMMC. He was born in Red Bay, AL to Homer Eustus and Jewel Bernice Grimes Sides. He worked as a supervisor at Gates Manufacturing and attended New Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy.
Graveside services will be Thursday, December 29, 1 p.m. at Bounds Cemetery with Bro. Terry Parrish officiating. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by one sister, Frances Whitehead (Lonnie) of Red Bay; one brother, David Sides (Christie) of Red Bay; special friend, Amanda Patterson of Golden; one uncle, Boyd Grimes (Mary) of Golden; one niece, Ginger Cole (Ben); three nephews, Andy Deaton (Liz), Donnie Sides and Brent Sides (Jessica) and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a host of aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be David Sides, Donnie Sides, Robbie, Steve Grimes and Tom Grimes.
