Harold Douglas "Doug" Fraser Doug Fraser, age 90, a life-long resident of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his home. He was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Doug was born to parents, Ulna and Gladys Fraser on July 8, 1930, in Columbia, Tennessee. He graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1948 and married the love of his life, Nancy Virginia Morton in 1951. He worked for many years as an electrical foreman at Monsanto and retired in 1986.

After retirement he worked at Ace Hardware each spring in the Garden Department. He also took up the guitar and started a Christmas Tree Farm.

He was a member of the Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia in 2007; grandson, Zachary Douglas Fraser; parents, Ulna and Gladys Fraser; and brother, William “Bill” Fraser.

Doug is survived by his two sons and their wives, Barry (Teresa) Fraser of Rio Vista, California and Gary (Becky) Fraser of Farragut, Tennessee; and two granddaughters and their husbands, Elizabeth (Mario) Lefiti of San Diego, California and Brooke (Casey) Drummond of New York City, New York, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Zach Fraser Memorial Fund at Fountain City Church, 2801 Holbrook Dr., Knoxville, TN 37918 (www.fountaincity.church).

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday August 20, 2020 at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee, with receiving of family and friends at graveside beginning at 10:00 a.m. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements and condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
