Mrs. Dot “Lucille” Simpson, 80 of Gaylesville, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday February 27, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 3PM Monday at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Red Rowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Weiss Lake Memory Gardens. The family will be receiving friends Monday from 1PM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Lucille is survived by her high-school sweetheart and husband of 62 years, Earl A. Simpson Sr.; Children, Susan (Brent) McCoy, Earl A. (Gay) Simpson, Jr., Dennis Simpson, Troy Simpson, and Hope (Donny) Porter; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-great grandsons; and 2 great-granddaughters on the way; Sisters, Marlene Brown, Doris McKenzie, Jennie (Ronnie) Moore, Deborah (Randy) Crenshaw; Brothers, Donny (Evie Lou) Mackey, Howard (Susan) Mackey, Brad (Monty) Mackey; Host of nieces of nephews.
Lucille lived most of her life in Gaylesville and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was of the Baptist faith. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents H.E. (Gene) and Chloe Mackey, sisters, Mary Helen Chumbler, Rebecca Sue Mackey, Betty Lou Mackey, and brother Hugh Nelson (Bud) Mackey.
