Doskie Oneta “Jackie” Jackson, 86, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Pearl of Orchard Valley in Aurora, Il. She was born February 4, 1936 in Red Bay, AL, the daughter of Thomas and Beadie Rollins Humphries. Doskie married John Jackson on October 2, 1954 in Mississippi. She was an LPN after working at several hospitals, retiring from Medical Center East in Birmingham, AL. After retiring, Doskie and her husband, John moved to Jacksonville, FL where they spent multiple years. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, November 19, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband-John Jackson; two sons – Johnny Jackson (Martha) of Middleburg, FL and Matthew Jackson (Jennifer) of Plano, IL; 14 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers – William (Nan), Lee, and Laymon (Barbara) Humphries and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Angie Medernach, Pasty Meszaros and Tommy Jackson; grandchildren, Victoria and Jennifer Medernach; one sister, Dorothy Stogner and one brother, Waymon Humphries.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 19, 9-11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
