Jean was a lifelong residence of Lawrence County, Alabama.
Jean is survived by her 4 children, Phillip Lynn McKelvey
(Marilyn). Gregory Stuart McKelvey (Sherre). Cathy McKelvey
Kloser (Steve). Michael Jay McKelvey (Kim) Her 5 grandchildren,
Keith Alan McKelvey, Amanda McKelvey Mennen (Eric), Stephen
Michael Kloser (Margaret) Stacey Kloser Wren (Jordan) and Sara
Catherine Kloser, Stephen Shelton Glenn (Laura), Lee Michael
Kasmeier, and 3 great grandchildren and 3 step great
grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Windell Stewart
McKelvey, her parents William Dawson Blaxton and Lucy Ouida
McCarthy Blaxton and 6 brothers and one sister.
Jean was the oldest living member of Moulton Methodist. She
joined the church in 1957 by transferring from Hillsboro. Her
commitment to her faith and those that God placed in her life was
a blessing to all that knew and loved her.
Jean’s love for life was evident in her many passions. She found
joy in traveling with her friends, especially to the beach. Her love
for her friends was further evident in the lively bridge games she
hosted, where laughter and camaraderie filled her home.
She had a passion for painting and sewing, and her artistic touch
was evident in the beautiful pieces she crafted. She found
immense joy in gardening, dedicating countless hours to
cultivating her flower beds, particularly her beloved rose garden.
As a charter member of the Talisman Garden Club for over 60
years, Jean’s dedication to her garden and her community was a
testament to her nurturing spirit.

A talented cook and baker, Jean delighted in preparing meals and
treats for her loved ones. Her kitchen was often filled with family
and friends gathered to share meals and create lasting memories.
Family was at the heart of Jean’s life. She cherished every
moment spent with her loved ones, creating memories that will be
cherished forever. Her devotion and love were the foundation of
her family’s happiness, and her presence will be profoundly
missed.
A celebration of life service will be held at Moulton Methodist on
Thursday September 5, 2024, where family and friends will gather
to honor and remember her life and legacy. Visitation will begin at
11:00am and celebration of life will proceed at 1:00pm.
