Dorothy Westover, born September 3, 1936, in Absecon, New Jersey to the late Clarence and Dorothy Homan. Dorothy passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.
Dorothy was a vibrant soul whose presence lit up any room. She had a passion for life that was as bright as her favorite color, pink, often accented with sparkles. Known for her love of bingo, casinos, and the timeless music of Elvis Presley, Dorothy brought joy to all who knew her. She adored dancing and cherished music, and her lively personality made her the life of every party.
Halloween held a special place in her heart, as she reveled in dressing up and celebrating the season. Ever the classic beauty, Dorothy was proud of her old-fashioned style, always ensuring her hair was perfectly set in curlers.
She later lived at the Bridge and enjoyed the time that she spent and the friends that she made hold a special place in her heart. There she earned the nickname “Jersey”.
Dorothy was reunited with her husband: George, and parents.
Dorothy’s legacy of love and laughter lives on through her children, Donna Westover, Barbara (Martin) Bolduc, Patricia (Claude) Knight, Stephan (Maria) Canter, and Deborah (Tony) Canter-Welch; her grandchildren, Rebecca Nicolle, Matthew, Kylee, Christopher, Lindsey, Preston, Courtney, Taylor, Brooke, and Blake; and 19 great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will forever remember her as a beacon of warmth, humor, and light.
A celebration of Dorothy’s incredible life will be held on April 25, 2024 at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Dorothy will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her sparkle and joy will remain in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
