Dorothy Stratton Horner passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021 in Sevierville, TN, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was 89 years old.
Mrs. Horner, a resident of Huntsville, AL, was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 25, 1931 to Thomas and Sarah Stratton. Mrs. Horner graduated from Ellis College in Newtown Square, PA. She married Zane Meredith Horner in 1954. Her husband and brother, William Stratton, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Horner was active in Southwood Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed being a Greeter. Mrs. Horner was a church secretary at Willowbrook Baptist Church, Jackson Way Baptist Church (Huntsville) and First Baptist Church in Aberdeen, MD. She was also active in Willowbrook’s Mom’s Morning Out Program.
Mrs. Horner is survived by her son, Thomas Horner (Melissa); daughter, Diane Small (Bob); daughter, Marjorie Henley (David); daughter, Kathleen Moorhead (Michael); grandchildren, Deborah Wagner, Natasha Tarin, Holley Horner, Robert Small, Shane Moorhead, Christopher Moorhead and Bryant Langford; and six great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at the chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home, with Pastor Will Spink officiating. Ms. Becky Whited will provide music. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
