Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Nell Murry, age 92, will be held at 3 PM Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until service time Saturday.
Mrs. Murry was born to Frank and Ethel (Joyce) Richardson on April 23, 1932, and passed away at her home in Trenton, TN on July 3, 2024.
Mrs. Murry was reared in Gibson County, where she spent most of her life working for Wilson Sporting Goods, Kraft, Kellwood, and Crenshaws, and caring for her children and family, except for a few years in Chicago, IL as a young wife and mother.
Mrs. Murry was preceded in death by three daughters, Joan Lambert, Peggy Graves, and Cathy Lawson; by six siblings, Russ Richardson, Esther Smallwood, Lula Hamilton, Dave Richardson, Betty Little, and Ollie Richardson; and her parents, Frank and Ethel Richardson.
Mrs. Murry is survived by a daughter, Barbara Anthony of Lexington, TN; two sons, Rick (Gigi) Murry and Greg (Tanya) Murry of Trenton, TN; a sister, Edie Horne of Trenton, TN, eight grandchildren, Alesa Erwin of Lexington, TN, Frank Nathan Anthony of Gainesville, FL, Leslie Graves of Jackson, TN, Jacob (Michelle) Murry of Springfield, TN, Taylor Murry, Heath Murry, Walker Murry all of Trenton, TN, Garrett (Emily) Lawson of Medina, TN; four adored great granddaughters, Brianna Leggett of Jackson, TN, Cecillia and Genevieve Murry of Springfield, TN, and Everly Lawson of Medina, TN.
Mrs. Murry spent her whole life devoting herself to the care and welfare of her beloved family, always steadfast in giving them what they needed for the best life possible. She lives on in the hearts and minds of her loved ones.
