Dorothy Nell Lyle

Dorothy Nell Lyle, a longtime resident of Huntsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 18, 2024.  She worked tirelessly for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 64 years as the church clerk for Mastin Lake Church of God of Prophecy.  She blessed others through her kindness and friendship for many, many years.  She was active in the music ministry for many years, singing in the choir, and playing her guitar and singing.

Miss Lyle was preceded in death by her parents William Troy Lyle and Julia Annice Hill Lyle, her sister Artie Mae Penny, brother Johnie Franklin Lyle and niece Sharon J. Penny.

Surviving family members include her nephews: James D. Penny, Sr. (Mona), William E. Penny (Sara), Larry D. Penny (Delene), Roger A. Penny, Sr. (Rebecca), Frankie Lyle and Keith Lyle (Lisa); Her great nieces: Pamela M. Penny White, Kimberly D. Penny Keeton, and Selena N. Penny Boyett; her great nephews: Glenn Lyle, James D. Penny, Jr., Scott L. Penny, Kevin D. Penny, Roger A. Penny, Jr., Brian A. Penny, and Jeremy W. Penny and many great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday February 21,2024 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at Spry Funeral Home with Bishop Harold St. Clair officiating.  The burial will then be held in Maple Hill Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.
