Dorothy Martin “Dot” Loyd, age 81 of Houston, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at her residence.
She was born July 25, 1942 to Hubert Jefferys and James Birdie Tidwell.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Houston Church of God where the service will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Kyle Morrow will officiate. The burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery in Moreland community.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Terry Martin, Tony (Annette) Martin, Timmy (Mona) Martin, Chris (Renee) Martin; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brothers, Jack (Becky) Jeffreys, J.r. (Debra) Jeffreys, and Larry (Lori) Jeffreys, and Bobby Jack Jeffreys; sisters, Debra (Marshal) Taylor, and Elaine (Donnie) Sherer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Birdie Jeffreys; grandparents, Allie and Bentley Tidwell, Sally and Jack Jeffreys; and brother, Leon (Deb) Jeffreys; daughter-in-law, Darlene Martin.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Dot’s special nurse, Bailey for the love and care during her transition.
