Mrs. Dorothy M. (Dot) Mintz, age 88, of Arab passed away at Shepherd’s Cove on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
Mrs. Mintz was born on January 10, 1933 in Marshall County to A.R. and Pairlee Holloway Manley.
She is survived by her daughters Jimmie Ann (Edwin) Cooley and Dee Dee (Clark) Boaz of Arab, four grandchildren: Kristi (Greg) Bowling, Keith (Charlie) Cooley, Bradley (Emily) Boaz, and Brooke (Adam) Bozarth.
Mrs. Mintz is also survived by ten great grandchildren: Ashlyn (Jake) Hambey, Abby, Alli, and Austin Bowling, Raylen Boaz, Owen Boaz, Rhett Boaz, London Boaz, James Owen Cooley, and Lincoln Bozarth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mintz, her parents, brother Fred Manley and sister Clura Colquitt.
Mrs. Mintz graduated from Sardis High School in 1951. She worked in the Office of Personnel Management at Redstone Arsenal until 1965 . In 1970 she became the Chief Financial Officer for the newly formed Arab City School System and held that position until her retirement in 1994.
She was a member of Grace Covenant Baptist Church.
A private, graveside service will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Clark Boaz and Edwin Cooley offering the eulogy.
Pallbearers will be Keith Cooley, Bradley Boaz, Greg Bowling, Austin Bowling, Adam Bozarth, and Chris Kennedy.
