Dorothy Linville Dorothy Linville, formerly of Decatur, passed away October 26th in Smyrna, Tennessee at the age of 82.

Dorothy was born on June 29, 1942, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw in 1960 and attended Central Michigan University. Dorothy married Perry Linville in 1962, and they were married for more than 54 years until his passing in 2017. Dorothy and Perry, along with their children Chris and Ellen, moved to Decatur in 1978 when Perry was promoted to a position at the Saginaw Steering Gear plant in Athens, Ala. Dorothy had a wide network of friends in both Michigan and then in Decatur, drawn to her warmth, easy smile, and good nature. Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother and a beloved aunt and sister-in-law.

She is survived by son Chris Linville, of Alexandria, Va., daughter Ellen Boyd and granddaughter Erin Reed of Smyrna, Tennessee.  A private ceremony will be held by the family.  Donations can be made in her name to your local Humane Society.
