Dorothy Lee Miller Profile Photo Dorothy Lee Miller, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County. She was 89 years old.
Born on October 1, 1934, in Union County, Dorothy was known for her vibrant personality and love for conversation. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed and heard. Her warm demeanor and charming presence brightened the lives of those around her.
Aside from her roles as a housewife and factory worker, Dorothy had a passion for various hobbies and interests. Sewing was one of her favorite pastimes, and she skillfully created beautiful garments with intricate details. She took great joy in visiting friends and maintained many strong relationships throughout her life. Fishing was another cherished activity of hers, where she found solace in the serenity of nature. Dorothy also had an affinity for collecting things that held sentimental value to her.
Dorothy’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving family and dear friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and an indomitable spirit.

She is survived by her sons Ricky Lee Nolen (Missy) of Myrtle, MS, Arthur David Nolen (Sarah) of Ecru, MS, and daughter Diane Throck Morton of West Union, 7 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Annie Mae Horton and Arthur Lee Horton, her husband of many years, Thomas Huston Miller, sons, Roger Lee Roy Holmes, and Lester Lamar Nolen, sisters Carol Snipes, Bessie Rowland, Jeanette Killough, and Ruth Knight, brothers Elbert Horton and Arthur Lee Horton Jr.

The services to celebrate Dorothy’s remarkable life will take place at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, Mississippi. The visitation will be held on December 15, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It will offer an opportunity for loved ones to come together to share stories and reminisce about the beautiful moments they shared with Dorothy.
On December 16, 2023, a Celebration of Life service will take place at Glenfield Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM This gathering will serve as a heartfelt tribute to Dorothy’s life filled with love and admiration for the impact she made on others.

Dorothy Lee Miller may no longer be physically present among us, but her memory will forever live in our hearts. Let us remember her infectious smile, her kind heart, and the way she made every conversation feel like the most important one.

In this time of loss, we find comfort in knowing that Dorothy has found peace. As we gather to honor and celebrate her life, let us also take solace in the memories she gifted us and carry her legacy forward. May she rest in eternal peace.
