Dorothy Jo “Dot” Panter age 90 of McMinnville, TN, died Tuesday, February 09, 2021 at Willow Branch HealthCare. She was born June 29, 1930, in McMinnville, TN, and was a nurse’s assistant with Warren County General Hospital and Care Plus Home Health. She was the previous owner of Dot’s Boarding Home, was a member of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary, and was a member of Shellsford Baptist Church. Mrs. Panter was preceded in death by her parents Jodie Perry and Mary Lenora Bouldin Roberts, former husband J.C. Panter, sisters Ester Mae Sparkman, Esalene Roberts, Bobbie Kittle, and Evelyn Bowling, special brother Private J.R. Roberts killed in action during WWII in 1945, brother Donald Roberts, and great grandson Charles Denton V.
Dot is survived by her children Ann Panter Boyd, Sherry Panter Tabor, and Jody (Tracie) Panter, sister Melba (Jimmy) Pistole, brother David (Joan) Roberts, sister-in-law Darlene Roberts, grandchildren Angelia Higgins, Jennifer Boyd Roberts, Ryan Tabor, Eric Tabor, Lindsey Tabor, and McKenna Panter, great grandchildren Shelby Brenneman, Jacob Jordan, Lane Boyd, Rance Higgins, Kayla Tabor, Jacob Tabor, and Beau Denton. Also survived by many family, friends, and loved ones.
The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Donald Owens and Steve Breedlove will officiate. Interment will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. The wearing of face masks and social distancing is encouraged. No food gifts at the funeral home please.
