Dorothy Jewell Barnes Potts, age 87, a resident of Hohenwald, Tennessee passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at her son’s home.
Dorothy’s family will visit with friends on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10:00am at Williams Funeral Home with Jerry McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Columbia, TN.
Born January 24, 1931 in Maury County; the daughter of Clarence and Lizzie Barnes. On December 11, 1948 she married Vance Lee Potts. She was employed by Dixie Manufacturing and Decatur County Nursing Home. After retirement she volunteered at Lewis County Food Bank. Mrs. Potts enjoyed being with her family, her church activities and her volunteer work. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband: Vance Lee Potts of Hohenwald; son: Jerry (Vickie) Potts of Hohenwald; grandchildren: Hayden Potts, Brent (Kristin) Potts, Jennifer Potts, Jessica (Jonathan) Hickerson, Joe (Dana) Woodard, Jamie Burns and Lauren (Neylan) Barber; 10 great grandchildren as well as brother: Bobby (Sylvia) Barnes and sister: Hazel Adair.
Pallbearers are Brent Potts, Joe Woodard, Jonathan Hickerson, Neylan Barber, Lance Lombardo and Trent Burns. Honorary Pallbearer is Hayden Potts.
