Dorothy Jean Shelton, age 77 of Belvidere, passed away on June 30, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Lincoln County on August 26, 1946, to the late Lannie Tripp Baker and Madge Tripp. Dorothy retired at Lanier but had also previously worked at Wilson Sporting Goods and in the cafeteria at Franklin County High School. She even sewed baseballs together on the side. When she was not working, she enjoyed riding horses, sitting on the porch, sewing and crocheting, and being with her family. Dorothy always looked forward to driving to see her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was a strong-willed, determined, loving lady that was always devoted to her family. She was a member of the Owl Hollow Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Baker, Barbara Sisk; and grandson, Joshua Hill. She is survived by her husband since 1962, Charles Shelton; son, Wayne (Carla) Shelton; daughter, Gina Brazelton; grandchildren, Bethany Hill, Emily Griffin, Megan Hill, Casey Shelton, Zach Shelton; several great-grandchildren, Audrey Shelton, Myla Richardson; siblings, James Walker (Debbie Winton), Debbie Walker (Sylvia Walker), Brenda Ramsey (Jim Ramsey); and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 5pm-8pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 11am at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lois Cemetery.
