Dorothy Jean Philpot, age 73 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Huntland on October 28, 1950, to the late Charlie and Bessie (Taylor) Hall. She had previously been employed at Genesco, but in recent years was a dedicated homemaker. Dorothy Jean was selfless, loving, and caring, and was always taking care of others, as well as her animals. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and for being a “social butterfly.” A Christian woman, she was of Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Rayford Hall, Leon Hall, Levoyd Hall, Ralph Hall, and Jurlin Philpot; and fur baby, Stormy Theodore Potts. Dorothy Jean is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years, Michael Philpot Sr; son, Michael (Rachel) Philpot Jr; brother, Charles Hall; sister, Stella Limbaugh; grandchildren, Wyatt Philpot, Cameron Sullivan, and Makayla Philpot; fur baby, Snuggles; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of Watson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Tony Philpot, Tommy Philpot, Tyler Philpot, Penny Hodges, Christopher Hall, and Cameron Sullivan serving as pallbearers.
