  Dorothy Jean Spencer Profile PhotoDorothy Jean (Clemens) Spencer formerly of Dayton and Wilberforce, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, at the age of 93. At the time of her passing, she resided in Madison, Alabama where she was an active member of her community at Merrill Gardens. Mrs. Spencer met and married her college sweetheart at Bluffton College (University) where she excelled academically. She became a teacher and taught Chemistry, Biology and Home Economics for nearly thirty years before retiring from the Dayton Public Schools.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved Charles. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren, never failing to share stories of their successes. She is survived by her six children Denise (Lloyd) Spencer-Watkins (Harbor City, CA), Debra (Ronald) Spencer-Grant (Tacoma, WA), Diana Spencer (Huntsville, AL), Charles B. (Janice) Spencer (Louisville, KY), John D. (Anjanette) Spencer (Madison, AL), Matthew T. (Brigitte) Spencer (Cumming, GA); and her grandchildren. Dorothy also leaves her sister Helen (Don)Campbell (Westlake, OH), brother Oliver Thomas (Doris) Clemens (Yellow Springs, OH) and numerous nieces and nephews to mourn her loss.
