Dorothy McIntosh Profile Photo It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Estelle Martin McIntosh, who peacefully left this world on April 9, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Dorothy, born on February 9, 1948, in Franklin, Tennessee, was the cherished daughter of the late Archie Lee Martin Sr. and Eva Tennessee Harper Martin.

Dorothy led a life filled with love, warmth, and an unwavering dedication to her family and passions. She was a talented beautician and seamstress, known for her skillful hands and creative flair. Alongside her husband Ted McIntosh, Dorothy shared 28 years of marriage, characterized by mutual respect, love, and companionship. Together, they found joy in the dancing and delighted in exploring destinations like Hawaii and Disney World, creating cherished memories that would endure a lifetime.

Among Dorothy’s many passions was her love for nature and gardening. She possessed a green thumb, nurturing vibrant flowers and tending to flourishing plants and vegetables with care and dedication. Her appreciation for the beauty of nature was evident in every corner of her home and garden.

Dorothy was also a member of the Thompson’s Station Church of Christ.

Dorothy’s legacy of love extends beyond her immediate family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ted McIntosh, her son Troy Maupin (Lisa), her grandchildren Chase and Jared Maupin, as well as her siblings: Thelma Ring (Johnny) and Doris Martin. Though she is no longer with us, Dorothy’s spirit will continue to live on through the memories she created and the lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Cherie Maupin; and siblings: : Archie Lee Martin, Jr. (Anna), Azilee Smith (Glyn), and Alfred Martin (Harriett).

Pallbearers will be Ben Martin, Buddy Martin, Chad Martin, Chase Maupin, Jared Maupin, and Daid Sewell.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Chris McElvain.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tina Weatherford, Rachel McElvain,  and Anna Odom.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee, on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service honoring Dorothy’s life will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM, also at Williams Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Kane officiating. Following the service, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
