Dorothy “Dot” Holmes Oglesby, 86, of LaVergne, Tennessee, died October 8, 2018. Preceded in death by husband of 59 years, James “Jim” Oglesby; sister, Martha Bentley and brothers, Emern Holmes Jr. and Hughes Holmes.
Survived by daughter, Jamie Oglesby (David) Lewis; grandchildren, Chelsea (Logan) Howell and Christopher Lewis; great-granddaughter, Kaisley Howell; sisters, Mary Griffin, Alice Johnson, Barbara Neal, Judy Fortenberry, Sandra McCleskey and Cathy Turner and brothers, Zack and John Holmes.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel and Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. Funeral will be conducted Friday, October 12, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Hamby’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Eva, Alabama, by William Stone and Krel Buckelew. Interment Hamby’s Chapel UMC Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallberers.
