Dorothy "Dot" Garnett  Funeral service for Dorothy “Dot” Garnett, 89, will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Fairview Church of God with Dr. Milan Dekich officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Herring Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Fairview Church of God.

Mrs. Garnett died on Monday, January 29, 2024 at her residence. She was born March 17, 1934, in Colbert County, to Richard Logan McCann and Delphia Maebell Scott McCann.

She was a Cook and Restaurant worker for Garnett’s Shell and for Dot’s Country Kitchen, prior to her passing. She was a member of Fairview Church of God for over 40 years. She always enjoyed watching over her children and grandchildren. She was a fantastic story-teller, a wonderful cook and was a huge Elvis fan, who loved listening to his music.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Hillard Garnett, sons, Jack and Jerry Garnett, brothers, Melvin and Hershel McCann and sisters, Lila Berryman, Edith Gaines, Jewel Harbin and Dean Terrell.

Survivors include

Son – James “Rusty” Garnett

Daughters – Jean Cox
Judy Johnson (Mike)

Brother – Sidney “Buddy” McCann

Eight Grandchildren

Fifteen Great Grandchildren

Three Great Great Grandchildren

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
