Dorothy Dean “Dot” Hargett Mabus – Obituary

Dorothy Dean “Dot” Hargett Mabus, 79, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born September 21, 1935, to James Rupert “Rupe” and Azie Johnson Hargett. She retired from Charm Step where she made many friends over the years. She dearly loved her family.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Stephen Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Tremont.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Hendrix (Ricky) of Plantersville and Anne Bennett (Joe) of Clay; seven grandchildren, Mistie Smith (Stephen), Danyelle Frye (Tim), Emily Denault (Jeffery), Rachel Collman (Michael), Ruel Bennett III, Madeline Bennett, and Brian Hendrix; 12 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Summer Rose, Faith, Lydia, Hope, Charity, Mikey, Summer Michelle, Dominic, Lori Jane, and Lilly Anne; a brother-in-law, Roger Guth of Tremont; three nephews; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Mabus; her parents; a sister, Earlene Guth; an infant sister, Jamie Lynn Hargett; and a niece, Sandra Lynn Guth.

Pallbearers will be Gary Guth, Greg Guth, David Guth, Ruel Bennett III, Tim Frye, and Tommy Gholston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at the funeral home.
