Mrs. Dorothy Bates Hancock, age 87, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020. Mrs. Hancock was born June 22, 1933 in Cullman, Alabama to Robert Lem and Mamie Trimble Bates.
Mrs. Hancock is survived by daughter: Brenda (Marlin) Jennings; sons: Ronnie (Mary) Hancock and Mike (Lendy) Hancock; sister: Viva Johnson; brothers: Robert (Janice) Bates and Frank (Vivian) Bates; grandchildren: Rusty (Jyme) Jennings, Randy (Alicia) Jennings, Jeremy Morrison, Keisha Schuster, Kiel (Lorie) Hancock, Chase (Brandi) Hancock, Abbie Hancock, Matt Hancock, and Brianna (David) De La Cruz; great grandchildren: Devan Jennings, Carson Jennings, Caden Jennings, Colton Jennings, Ben Grimett, Sophia Schuster, Sebrina Schuster, Dominic Schuster, Oliver Schuster, Kennedi Hancock, Cohen Hancock and Sebastian De La Cruz; and great great grandchild: Weston Morrison.
Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her husband: Sherrel Edward Hancock; sister: Myrtle Hendrix; brothers: Grady Bates, Billy Bates, Jack Bates, Thad Bates, Terry Bates, Infant Henry Bates.
A celebration of life graveside service for Mrs. Hancock will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM. at Cullman City Cemetery.
