Mrs. Dorothy Anne Morgan, 74, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, after an extended illness. Her family will receive friends for visitation Monday, Jan. 6, at Colbert Memorial Chapel from 10 a.m.-noon.The funeral will begin in the funeral home chapel at noon. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Brother Greg Beasley will be officiating.
Dorothy had a great love for God. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was known for her seamstress talents, her good cooking and her love for Alabama football.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Boyce; mother, Ruthie Thompson; sister, Doris Cochran; and daughter, Madeline Morgan.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Morgan; children, Randy Askew and wife Lynn, Pamela Hill and husband Tim, and Jimmie D. Morgan; grandchildren, Chris Hill, Brittany Hill, Jason Morgan, Matthew Morgan and Andrew Morgan; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Morgan, Lyleeona Hill, Brooklynn Hill and Jhye Hill; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Our family extends a special thanks to Dr. Evans and his staff, the nurses and staff at Helen Keller Hospital, the nurses and staff at Gentiva Home Health, and the staff of Northwest Cancer Center for all the love and care shown our loved one.
