Funeral service for Dorothy Ann Patton Orr, 96 of Hartselle will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Hartselle with Rev. Harold Thompson and Rev. Bobby Ray Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Mrs. Orr was born January 26, 1923 in Jefferson County, Alabama to Charles Gilette Patton and Beuna Vista Lambert Patton. She passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 in Falkville. She, along with her late husband Charles “C.L.” Orr, was the owner and operator of Orr Drapery Co. in Decatur. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle since 1946 and a member of the United Methodist Church Women. She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary and the Daughters of the Confederacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles “C.L.” Orr, and six siblings.
She is survived by her sons David Orr and wife Vennessia and John Pat Orr and wife Candy; daughter Dottie Orr Vines and husband Larry; grandchildren John David Orr Sr., Charles Allan Orr, John Wesley Orr, William Patton Vines, Charles Cooper Vines and Lurie Lynn Orr Hallford; and eleven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John David Orr Sr., Charles Allan Orr, John Wesley Orr, William Patton Vines, Charles Cooper Vines and James Gordon Hallford.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to the building fund of Hartselle First United Methodist Church, 210 East Hickory St., Hartselle, AL 35640, or to a favorite charity.
