Dorothy Ann Harris, age 90, of Goodlettsville, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Skyline, Nashville. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2024 at 12pm in the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral in Greenbrier. Buriel will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Dividing Ridge Road, Goodlettsville, with Jeff Whitaker, Guy Conquest, Michael Conquest, Chris Conquest, Steven Crossland, Dustin Hutcherson serving as pallbearers and Eric Hayes, Lee Watts, and Ross Hayes serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00pm- 7:00pm at the funeral home and Monday from 10am till time of Service at 12pm.
Mrs. Harris was born July 9, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Clarence Edward and Stella Marie Dickens Hemmer. She worked as a Postal Carrier and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Goodlettsville. In her spare time, she loved crafting, jigsaw puzzles, fishing, gardening and feeding the wildlife.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Travis Harris, Sr., brother, Ronald Hemmer, half-sister, Eddie Clair, and son-in-law, John Duke.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her son and aughter-in-law, Travis (Patch) and Shelley Harris of Goodlettsville, and Randy Crossland and Christine Murphy of Fairview, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Donna Harris and Mark Thomas of Calhoun, LA; daughter and partner, Anita Conquest and Jeff Hornbuckle of Goodlettsville; daughters, Barbara Duke of Nashville and Faye Harris of Goodlettsville; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
