Dorothy Ann Daniel George

Dorothy Ann Daniel George, was born on the Scott family farm on March 12, 1932 to the late John Henry and Lena Scott Daniel. Dorothy was an only child but had so many special cousins. She attended Unity Church of Christ as a child until they moved to Fayetteville in 1950. She then was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ. Dot was a graduate of the Central High School class of 1950. Dot married Russell George on October 11, 1952 and to this union they were blessed with a son, James Michael George and three years later with another son, Stephen Daniel George. They bought a home on Second Ave. in 1956 where she and Russell raised their boys. Mrs. Dot worked at Union National Bank and the Lincoln County Electric System. Mrs. Dot worked at the office of Charlie Bagley, until Fayetteville City School was built in 1968. Mrs. Dot had the honor of encouraging and loving on many young lives over the years with the City School System. She retired in April of 1990 after 30 years of service.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Mike George and wife Sandy of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jennifer G. Howes and husband Jeremy, Russ George, Rick George and wife Jennifer; great-grandchild, Haven Alexis Howes, Nate George, Micah George, and Hannah Landry; and many friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell George and a son, Stephen Daniel George.

Mrs. Dot passed away February 20, 2021 in Huntsville, AL. A private graveside service was held at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
