Dorotha Simmons Page, age 93, beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away on Aug 15, 2020. She was born on February 21, 1927 in Altamont, TN (Grundy County) to the late Joe J Simmons and Lillie Mae Henry Simmons.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (Jack) Floyd Page, her brother Joe Simmons, Jr and her nephew Joey Simmons.  She is survived by her daughter, Ann Page Brady (Hugh) of Huntsville, AL, her granddaughters, Michelle Brady Ettinger (Ben) of Nashville, TN, and Andrea Brady Landers (Jason) of Huntsville, AL, her great grandchildren, Brady Reed Burleson, Katherine Mae Burleson, Mackenzie Ettinger, Kyle Smith, and Anthony Michael Landers, her nieces, Renee Simmons Soldwedol (Brad), and Marilyn Simmons, her nephew, Ricky Simmons (Kim), her great nephews, Joe Brandon Simmons (Courtney), and Wesley Simmons (Chloe), her great nieces, Jennifer Hellmer (Josh), and Cory Schuren, her great great nephews Warren Hellmer, Walter Hellmer, Garrett Daughtrey, and Joe Brady Simmons and her great great niece, Madolyn Simmons, and her sister-in-law, Joyce Simmons Wagner.

She graduated from Van Buren High in Spencer, TN in 1944 as valedictorian and graduated from Drowns Business College in Nashville, TN. She served as owner and manager of Simmons and Page Home Furnishings for 57 years. She was also an insurance agent, amazing sales and people person, taught square dancing to children (winning many competitions), outstanding cook and wrote her own cook book, and a very loving and protective mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was a long time member of the Spencer, TN Church of Christ.  Approximately 10 years ago when she moved to Huntsville to be near her daughter, she became a member of the Mayfair Church of Christ in Huntsville, AL.

Funeral services will be Monday August 17, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. R. C. Christian and Bro. Gene Brock officiating.  Bro. Terry Cope will be leading the congregational singing.  Visitation hour is 1:00pm till time of service at 2:00pm.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN.

The family request that all attendees wear mask and practice safe distancing during their time at the funeral home.
