Dorotha Louise Bean, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Rosewood Manor.
Dorotha Louise Cloud Bean (known by all as “Dot”) was born to Harry Cloud and Jessie Thomas Cloud on March 11, 1935 in Jeffries Cove, Jackson County Alabama.
Her siblings were Ted Cloud, deceased, (Betty Cloud) and Charlotte Cloud Rorex (Elmoore Rorex, deceased). She married Billy Bryan Bean and they had one daughter, Melanie Bean, now Melanie Holliman (John R. Holliman). Dot was a step-mother to Edgar Bryan Bean, “Eddy”, deceased; Teresa Ades, “Terri”, (Eddie Ades); Thomas Emmitt Bean, “Tommy;” and Shirley Jo Bean, “Candi.” She was the grandmother of William Beau Bean, deceased; John Russell Bean; Joshua Ades; Alexandria Holliman and Abigail Holliman. She resided in Stevenson, Alabama, with Bill until 2016, when health required them to move to Rosewood Manor in Scottsboro, Alabama. Bill passed away on December 16, 2016.
Dot was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed genealogy research and worked at the Scottsboro Jackson Heritage Center for 19 years helping people around the world in researching their family history.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 14th at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama, at 1:00 p.m. (CST). Melanie Holliman will deliver the obituary and opening remarks. Dr. Randy Smith will officiate the service. Service will be followed by intermit at Stevenson City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Rudder Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Stevenson City Cemetery in Stevenson, Alabama.
