Doris Romine, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 23. She was a resident
of Colbert County and was a member of Tuscumbia First United Methodist
Church. She was born on September 4, 1923, in Rogersville, Alabama and
attended Lauderdale County High School. She enjoyed being a homemaker
and was an excellent seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Horace Romine,
parents, James Clarence and Josephine Kennedy Scott, sister, Elaine
Scott Raney, brother; J.C. Scott, and son-in-law, Ronald Taylor.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Romine, Sherri Purnell and
husband, Bill, and Debi Taylor; one grandson, Ronny Taylor and wife,
Ashley; and four great-grandsons, Zachary Taylor, Jakob Taylor, Ashton
Taylor, and Benjamin Taylor.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 until 2:30 p.m. in the parlor at Tuscumbia
First United Methodist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:30 p.m. with the
Rev. David Lee officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial
Gardens. Morrison Funeral Home is directing.
Pallbearers will be Ronny Taylor, Zach Taylor, Douglas Burchell, Jimmy
Romine, Jimmy Scott, and Billy Joe Kennedy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brad McAnalley, the nurses and staff
at Helen Keller Hospital, and Southern Care Hospice. We would like to
say a special thank you to the sitters who lovingly cared for her
Brenda Moore, Theresa Jones, Sue Gargis, Cindy Whittle, Tannie Johnson,
April Softley, Paula Brown, and Chris Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tuscumbia First United
Methodist Church.
