Doris L. Hamilton, 83, of Muscle Shoals, Ala., passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013. Her family will receive friends for visitation Thursday morning, September 26, from 10-11 at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Jack Redfern will officiate the service beginning at 11. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. She was a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford L. Hamilton; sister, Mary Nell Kent; brother, Jack Wells; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Wells.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Harris (Mike); sister, Betty Turbyfill (Charles); grandchildren, Drew Harris (Kaelie), Emily Crow (Tim) and Will Harris; great- grandchildren, Mack and Lucy Crow; cousin, Warner Pruitt (Sandra); and several great-nieces.
Pallbearers will be Drew Harris, Will Harris, Tim Crow, Carlis Carmack, Don Bowling and Jim Fuqua.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Hartselle Baptist Church Paving Fund, 1640 Main St. West, Hartselle, AL 35640.
Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
