Doris Jean Heath – Obituary

Doris Jean Heath, 82, of Bear Creek entered into rest Monday, November 19, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Heath was born May 18, 1930 in Haleyville. She was a member of Spruce Pine Church of Christ for 20 years. Doris was a stay at home mom who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She was a strong Christian lady, a godly woman, and an example to all who knew her. Doris was an excellent cook and she never met a stranger. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 6-9pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, were services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2pm. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. Brother McKinley Pate and Brother James Phillips will officiate.

Doris is survived by her son, Sam (Lesa) Heath; daughter, Linda Heath (Wayne) Pate; and brother, Jimmy (Glenda Anne) Dye Sr. She was “grandmother” to 6 grandchildren, Brandi Stevens, Samuel Heath, McKinley Pate, Kimberly Pate Hatcher, Justin Sartin, Joe Yancy; 11 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Also a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, John W. Heath Jr.; father, Rhudy M. Dye; mother, Mary P. Dye; sisters, Nina M. Brent, and Jo Francis Herald.
