Doris Hayes Franklin, age 86, died Saturday morning July 16, 2022, at Northbrooke Health Care, under the care of Tennessee Quality Hospice.
She was born Saturday June 13, 1936, in Granville County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Letha Vaughn Hayes. Although she worked for a time as a bank teller, she spent the majority of her long life as a mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and decorating her home. Doris loved to play bridge and enjoyed setting up bridge parties. She lived at Jackson Meadows Retirement Home for the last twenty years, and the family is grateful to those there who befriended and helped to care for her in these last years.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Regina Freeman (Bret) of Greenwood, MS; two sons, John Franklin of Watertown, TN, and David Franklin of Jackson, TN; a sister, Louise Kaufman of Palm Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Hillary Blackburn (Chad), Laura Franklin (Rod Rodriguez), Kimberly Franklin, and William Franklin, and four great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, John Hayes, and George Hayes.
SERVICE: The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Garry Miller of Englewood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
