Doris Goodwin Harbison, 87 of Crane Hill, entered into rest on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at her home.
Doris was born on November 9, 1926 in Cullman, Alabama. She began and ended her membership at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with several in between. Doris was a long time Sunday School teacher and Worship Service Leader.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 5-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Addison, where services will be held at Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 2pm. Burial will be in Bethany Baptist Cemetery. Reverend Larry Duke will officiate.
She is survived by her sons, Hank (Donna) Harbison, Hilly (Willette) Harbison, Teddy (Wanda) Harbison, Donnie (Vicky) Harbison, Ronnie Harbison; daughter, Gwen (Larry) Thompson. She was “Nana” to twenty-three grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Alton Truett Harbison; parents, Reverend Bert and Minnie Gray Goodwin; two grandsons, Tony Harbison, Donny Harbison; brother, Carl Goodwin and his wife Billie Mae; sisters, Ruth Johnson and her husband Leroy, Vonell Murray and her husband Delmus, and Jane Cobb.
