Funeral for Doris Evans Lindsey, 86, of Hackleburg will be Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Hackleburg United Methodist Church with Reverend Bobby Aderholt and Dr. Mike Hendon officiating and Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, directing.

Burial will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Mrs. Lindsey, who died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at ECM Hospital in Florence, was born June 17, 1926, in Marion County to Floyd Martin Evans and Maud Walker Evans. She graduated from Hackleburg High School, Florence State Teachers College and Peabody College in Nashville. She taught at Phillips High School in Bear Creek, Phil Campbell High School, Hackleburg High School, Winfield High School, Auburn University and North Alabama State Junior College during her 33 year teaching career. She was a member of Hackleburg United Methodist Church where she held a number of offices. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Russell Lawrence and Charles Lindsey; two brothers, Charles Evans and Raymond Evans; two sisters, Kate Randolph and Earlene Young.

Survivors include one sister, Betty Cantrell, of Sherman, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Cantrell, Charles Evans, Chad Cole, Kevin Fowler, Vernon Britnell and Jeff Baccus.
