Doris Ann Sullenger Doris Ann Bishop Sullenger, age 79 of Huntland passed away on April 26, 2021, after an extended illness with her family by her side.
Doris was born on July 31, 1941 in Estill Fork, AL to the late James Orville and Rowena Brewer Bishop. She was a lifelong member of Huntland First Baptist church, which she attended regularly until her health failed. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She valued and took extreme pride in family, friends and her faith in God and was always the caregiver to all.
She started her career as a telephone operator for South Central Bell and also worked a clerical position at American Standard and Huntland School before becoming a full-time homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband WC Sullenger Jr and grandson Tad Sullenger. Doris is survived by her loving children Greg (Vicky) Sullenger of Belvidere and Tammy (Derial) Sanders of Huntland. Grandchildren Tia (Adam) Hale of Nashville, Kyle (Marina) Commers of Huntland and Felica Sullenger of Winchester. Great grandchildren Hunter and Paisley Sullenger & Hadley, Kynsley and Fenleigh Commers. Siblings Brenda (Dennis) Burton, Jeff (Kelly) Bishop and Cindy (Dwight) Latham & a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Kyle Commers, Dwight Latham, Jeff Bishop, Paul Armstrong, Jason Bradley and Peanut Ashley. Honorary pallbearer Hunter Sullenger.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Mike Robertson officiating. Interment will be at Mt Carmel Cemetery.
