Graveside services for Mrs. Dora Louise Irvin, age 78 of Lineville, will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Chandler Springs Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Epperson officiating. There will be no public visitation prior to services.
Mrs. Irvin passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at her home. She was born and raised in Talladega County until around 8th grade before moving to Clay County for the rest of her life. Mrs. Irvin was a jailer at the Clay County Jail, served as a cook for Marathon gas stations, and for 10 years worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Wellborn Cabinets, but was primarily a stay at home wife and mother. Mrs. Irvin enjoyed tending to her flowers and making flower arrangements, hunting for arrowheads, and was into doing sketch drawings, primarily faces. She took pride in helping raise and spending time with her grandchildren, and was always happy and joking around with her friends and family.
Mrs. Irvin is survived by her husband of 61 years, Denney Irvin of Lineville; two daughters: Tammy Irvin of Lineville and Loretta Morrison (Donald) of Delta; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ilene Hill of Lineville; one brother, Willie Strickland (Judy) of Alexander City; plus other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Maron Oliver Strickland and Azelda Sewell Strickland; one granddaughter, Windy Zarrabal; four brothers: Jimmy, Donald, Billy, and J.B. Strickland; and one sister, Joyce Taylor.
Active Pallbearers will be Nick Johnston, Eli Villanueva, Dale Parris, Jacky Brown Jr., and Rueben Guevara.
