Dora Ellis Scott Dora Ellis Scott, age 75, of Guntersville, passed away on January 9, 2024, at her residence. Born on September 18, 1948, to the late Daisy Pankey and Lee Childress, Dora was a cherished member of The Bridge Church Boaz for over 30 years. Her unwavering devotion to her church family was a testament to her deep faith and love for her community.
Dora is survived by her daughter, Tina Butler (Craig); grandson, Matt Butler (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Julianne Butler and Grant Butler; sister, Kay Alexander (Mike); chosen daughter, Paula Bristow; and chosen granddaughter, Emileigh Bristow. The bonds she shared with her family, were a
In addition to her parents Dora is preceded in death by her grandparents, Odell and Camilla Bearden.
A memorial service to celebrate Dora’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, providing an opportunity for the community to gather and share their cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be sent to the Terrace Lake Activity Fund, 100 Terrace Lake Dr., Guntersville, AL 35976, or The Bridge Church Boaz, 111 McGee Street, Boaz, AL 35957. These contributions will serve as a meaningful tribute to Dora’s enduring legacy and her commitment to the well-being of others.
