Dora Elizabeth “Liz” Robbins Bland

Dora Elizabeth “Liz” Robbins Bland, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 surrounded by her family at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS. She was born on March 25, 1938 in Myrtle, Mississippi to the late Wiley Robbins and Donnie Campbell Robbins.

Liz was a retired homemaker, who spent her life making others feel loved, welcomed and fed. She was a mother, friend and “Mamaw” to everyone who knew her. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Visitation will be 10 AM to 12 Noon with Celebration of Life Service at 12 Noon.  Reverend Justin Holifield of CrossPointe Church in Laurel, officiating.

She is survived by two sons, Jim “Jimmy” Ledger (Monice) and Timothy “Tim” Bland, both of New Albany, one daughter, Patricia “Patty” Todd of Laurel,  five grandchildren: Kaitlin Jones (Kevin), Heather Willard (Brett), Reagan Sumrall (Bryson), Jeremy Bland (Beth), and Jennifer Carwyle (Chris); seven great grandchildren: Max Willard, Tripp Willard, Daniel Bland (Monica), ChristopherBland, Elizabeth Bland (Michael), Gunner Carwyle, and Laken Carwyle; and four great great grandchildren: DJ Bland, Junior Bland, Autumn Bland, and Kaya Brown; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Daniel Bland; one son, David John Bland; and seven brothers: Talmadge, Charles, J.W., Buddy, Billy, Glen, and Delmer “Shorty” Robbins.
