Dora Elizabeth Crewse departed this life on November 15, 2014 in Selmer, TN at the age of 88 Years, 4 Months, 29 Days. She was born June 17, 1926 in Bethel Springs, TN the daughter of the late Willie Marvin and Euna Flatt Russom.
She was united in marriage to John Crewse, Jr. Mr. Crewse preceded her in death on December 23, 2001.
Mrs. Crewse lived in Flint, Michigan for approximately 25 years before moving back to McNairy County in 1978. She worked at the former Maple Hill Nursing Home in Selmer and was a homemaker. She was a Pentecostal. She was saved at age 17 and lived her entire life for her God and her children. She taught all of her children how to be saved and dedicated to the Lord. She enjoyed reading the Bible and talking about Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.
Dora was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. As her children were growing up, she often made them coats and dresses using a pattern she cut out of paper that she would lay on the floor.
She is survived by by her 7 children, Vernon Thomas Crewse of South Whitley, IN, Larry Wayne Crewse of Bethel Springs, Brenda Joan Crewse of Selmer, Unita Janet Crewse Gage of Bethel Springs, Alan Grant Crewse of Indianapolis, IN, Robin Annette Crewse of Selmer, Samuel Lincoln Crewse of Indianapolis, IN; four sisters, Hazel Flatt, Louella Young, Martha Huckabee, Betty Malone; three brothers, Edward Russom, Alton Russom, Alfred Dee Russom; 17 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Crewse was preceded in death by two brothers, William Russom, Thomas Russom.
