Mrs. Dora E. McGuire Tompkins was born on June 24, 1935 in Mt. Hope, Alabama, to the late Ruby and Luther Hubbard. She departed this life on October 3, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Phylistene (Dolly) Groce; her son, Jack Abernathy; brothers, Lanny and Luther Hubbard Jr. and sisters, Hazel Abernathy and Lottie Hillman.
Dora leaves to cherish her memories of her time on this earth, her children, Tamer McGuire (Melissa), Charles McGuire, Kandy Hamilton, Cherrie McGuire, Rose Winston, Donnell Tompkins, Gail Tompkins, Omar Tompkins (Barbara), Corey Tompkins, James White (Ollie); sisters, Beulah Mae Reynolds, Pauline Nelson, 24 grandkids, 30 great-grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2pm. The family requests that you wear RED.
