Donny B. “Pete” Smith of Arab passed away at his residence Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the age of 66 years, 2 months, and 26 days.
Mr. Smith was born in Arab, Alabama Wednesday, December 29, 1954, the son of William O. Smith and Hattie L. Oaks Smith. He was a self-employed carpenter and of the Church of God faith. He was the Pastor at Living Water Ministries in Blountsville for over 15 years.
He is survived by his Wife: Barbara Gooch Smith, Son: James Curtis Stewart (Lisa) and a Daughter: Shannon Stewart all of Arab; four Grandchildren: Nikki Gibbs (Zach), Austin Hawkins (Brandy), Jesse Hawkins and Brian Fenley, two Great Grandchildren: Eli and Addison; a Brother: Dennis Gary Smith, six Sisters: Nellie Ruth Caster, Dimple Faye Nelson, Dollie Sue Sims, Margruitte “Pam” Underwood (Billy), Jeanette Glass, Millicent Faulkner (Gary) and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, his Church Family and Many Dear Friends; he was Preceded In Death by his Parents: William and Hattie Smith, three Brothers: Ollivia, Jerry and Tony Smith and a Sister: Eloise Johnson.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Gary Smith and Brother Rick Townson, officiating. Burial will be in Roswell Creek Cemetery, Blount County, Gober Funeral Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Austin Hawkins, Jesse Hawkins, Zach Gibbs and others to be listed as their names are made available to the funeral home.
Visitation for Mr. Smith will be from 12 Noon until service time at 2 p.m. also on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Gober Funeral Chapel.
