Donnie Wayne Williams, 58, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 2, 2023. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6th 6-8 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Florence.
Donnie was preceded in death by his mother Louise Lamar, father J.D. Lamar, and brother David “Shorty” Atkinson.
He is survived by his daughter Ashley Williams Mitchell (Trey), daughter Amanda Williams Hester (Caleb), ex-wife and friend Tina Murphy Williams, sister Kathy Williams Burns (James), sister Angela Lamar Foster, and grandson Graham Mitchell his special little buddy.
Donnie was a loving father, grandfather, and coach. He had a caring heart, loved helping others, and liked volunteering with his church’s food pantry. Donnie enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and Alabama Football. He loved to make others laugh and smile with his jokes.
Donnie was a member of the Labor Local #366 for many years. He was also a member of Underwood Baptist Church. He came to know and love his dialysis staff during his years of treatment.
