Donnella Jo Nickerson, of Madison, passed away October 1, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital.Ms. Nickerson was born on January 24, 1961 to Paul Edwin and Phyllis Neuman Lightfoot.
Survivors include son Chris Nickerson (Kelley) of Moyock, NC; daughter Allison Steele (Eric) of Athens; brother Daniel Lightfoot (Robin); mother Phyllis Lightfoot; five grandchildren Juno Steele-Gray, Alexis Steele, Zoey Steele, Mason Steele and Landon Nickerson.
She is preceded in death by her father.
Ms. Nickerson was often found baking or shopping with those she loved and was always ready for a road trip with friends, especially if it ended in a waterfall. She faithfully served her country during her time in the Air Force.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 at McConnell Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends from 12-1 pm, with a service following at 1pm.
